RETURN

2023

RETURN is a solo work all about infatuation, desire, and companionship. We follow Fragile, our protagonist, as she simultaneously moves through the stages of love and seasons of nature. RETURN combines contemporary dance, lush poetprose, and electropop music, all crafted by Naomi Tanner, to create a uniquely transdisciplinary work of dance theater. Additionally the beginning and end points are decided at random for each performance; altering the narrative structure with each presentation.

An exploration of cyclical behavior and the talk-therapy-industrial complex, RETURN is a solo dance theater work that uses original text, music, and choreography to tell the story of a woman breaking the toxic cycles in her life. Along the way she navigates a rollercoaster romantic love, varying mental health challenges, and the everchanging nature of her trans identity. Additionally, using chance operations, the beginning and end points are decided at random for each performance.
